About This Episode
Shane Herman: So it’s the baseball podcast here and I’m with Miami Marlins, Trevor Rogers. Alright, Trevor.
Trevor Rogers: Good. How are you?
Shane Herman: Former first rounder. I’ve a few questions for you. What age did you start playing baseball at?
Trevor Rogers: Yeah, probably around five years old. Long as I can remember, really. I grew up in the game, so yeah, about five years old.
Shane Herman: Were you the best player on your little league team?
Trevor Rogers: Um, not at first. It definitely took a while to develop. But with a lot of hard work it paid off.
Shane Herman: Yeah. So what’s your favorite kind of food?
Trevor Rogers: Pizza by far
Shane Herman: Yeah! How did it feel to be drafted by the Miami Marlins?
Trevor Rogers: It was a blessing, you know. Definitely it was a good organization and I like where we’re headed.
Shane Herman: Who’s your favorite big league Marlin that you look forward to playing with?
Trevor Rogers: Probably, definitely someone on the pitching staff. Pablo Lopez, Brian Anderson, those guys.
Shane Herman: Yeah. You were recently, like how does playing in the Florida State League feel?
Trevor Rogers: Well, it’s a good league a lot of competition here. It’s good to compete with some of the good guys in this league. So it’s a good time.
Shane Herman: Who’s your favorite baseball player as a child?
Trevor Rogers: Randy Johnson.
Shane Herman: Yeah. What kind of gear do you use?
Trevor Rogers: I’m a Nike guy, so everything’s Nike. Even to my baseball gloves to my cleats, everything.
Shane Herman: Yeah. That’s nice. So that kinda wraps up the interview. Thank you so much, Trevor.
Trevor Rogers: Thank you for having me.
