About This Episode
Shane Herman: Hello. I’m here with Victor Mesa Jr. of the Marlins. How are you Victor?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Good.
Shane Herman: Okay, so what age did you start playing baseball?
Victor Mesa, Jr: About five.
Shane Herman: Wow, that’s nice. What’s your favorite thing to do outside of baseball?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Uh, I dunno. I still make time for family, play FIFA competition. Uh, I dunno, Instagram.
Shane Herman: Yeah, who are you most excited to play with in the MLB?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Oh, I think, uh, with my brother.
Shane Herman: How is it being in the same organization with your brother?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Good. I feel great. It’s a good opportunity.
Shane Herman: How many hours a day do you practice playing baseball?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Seven or eight hours a day.
Shane Herman: Oh yeah, what’s your favorite food to eat?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Oh, I don’t know, Cuban food, rice, plantain and tomato meal.
Shane Herman: Does it bother you when people ask you for autographs?
Victor Mesa, Jr: No. I think it’s great because you’re one people follow. They follow you for that. So that’s, for me, that’s the best thing outside of baseball.
Shane Herman: Oh, was playing baseball and being a baseball player your dream when you were growing up as a kid?
Victor Mesa, Jr: Yeah. That and playing soccer both at the same time. But I played baseball because that is something my father played. He was a player, but I think both the baseball and soccer.
Shane Herman: Well thank you so much victor for doing this. Thank you, bye.
