Shane Herman: Welcome to the Sweet Spot Network. Shane here. I’m with Zack Thompson. How are you Zack?
Zack Thompson: I’m good, thanks for having me.
Shane Herman: So you were drafted in the first round of 2019 MLB draft. How is it to be drafted in the first round?
Zack Thompson: Oh, it’s awesome. Working for a great organization with a great group of guys couldn’t be happier.
Shane Herman: What’s your favorite food?
Zack Thompson: Favorite food is a steak. I love steak.
Shane Herman: Oh, nice. Do you have a favorite pace to get it?
Zack Thompson: Not really.
Shane Herman: Who are you most excited to play with in the MLB for the Cardinals.
Zack Thompson: Oh, it doesn’t matter. I just hope to get there one day.
Shane Herman: Yeah. Where’s your favorite place to play?
Zack Thompson: Favorite place to play. Well, I haven’t been very many places down here in the Florida State League yet, but, I don’t know that’s going to be a tough one. I’ll keep you posted on that one.
Shane Herman: Yeah. So who was your favorite MLB player as a kid?
Zack Thompson: Growning up. I was a big Barry Bonds Fan. And then, once Clayton Kershaw hit the scene, I was big Kershaw Fan.
Shane Herman: He’s really good. Do you have any advice for people who want to become professional baseball players?
Zack Thompson: I just keep your head down and work really hard. Listen to your coaches and never give up on your dreams.
Shane Herman: Nice. Oh, what kind of gear do you use?
Zack Thompson: I am with Nike and Rawlings.
Shane Herman: Oh, nice. How did you get the sponsors?
Zack Thompson: I don’t know. I don’t know the process. Just glad to be there.
Shane Herman: Nice. Oh, how many hours a day do you practice final question.
Zack Thompson: Now that we’re this late in the season, I’d say it’s probably only about an hour or so a day. Earlier, like preseason work and early in the season it’s several hours. I don’t know.
Shane Herman: Okay. Well thank you so much.
Zack Thompson: Absolutely. Thanks for having me.
